"The story is presented in a straight line and direct manner.The language itself is deceptive but simple just as the book itself.Through the experience of our protagonist,Pokuwaa,we 'pictured a people whose existence revolve around paganism with tens of gods and their priest reigning supreme.Every disappointment,delay,misfortune and the likes is attributed to sundery things and sacrifies must be offered in other for those concerned to triumph
A woman in her prime,as the name implies,tells the story of Pokuwaa,a beautiful lady who has also become a sucessful farmer but she has no child even after marrying her third husband a man who already has three children.The style employed in this novel includes;
-Irony;It was used in the book from the beginning to the end.For instance,Pokuwaa ties her precious black hen to a tree only for it it to vanish without trace the very moment she desperately needs it for a make-or - mar sacrifice, and in the same vein,she comes across other women who seemingly desperate to get rid of their own children.She once said''What world,when you find the hoe you can't find the stick.when you find the stick,you can't find the hoe''
-Omniscient point of view;The author enables the reader to be on the same wavelenght with the actions,thoughts and reflections of the characters
-Imageries and Symbols;These are also used.They tally with fetish objects and shrines that loom large in those people's lives
-Flash back;This was used lavishly throughout the book.For instance,the story begins with pokuwaa feverishly searching for the hen she wants to take to Tano for sacrifice,along the line.

Critical Analysis of the Style in 'Lord of the flies'.
The story is an allegory like the Animal Farm by George Orwell.It is easy to understand while reading but it has a complex structure.It is divided into twelve chapters and each of the chapter fascinates the reader and holds out its own figurative-meanings,symbols and metaphors.Lord of the Flicks itself is an allision to the bible where Beezehub which means,The devil,was used.The head of the pig which is the lord of the flies therefore is a symbol of evil manifestation.Each of the character represents evil and good and therefore symbolic
'The snake'symbolises evil in man and the coral rock that of brute force.A lot of imageries are deplyed in the novel,example,the imagery of heat which takes the boys off their shelter till evening comes,a time when the weather is cool.There is also the spot where simeon converse with Pig's head and fainted afterwards.There is also the imageryof hearth that burns the whole island which fortells Armegeddon.
Furthermore,the imagery of butterflies is Picturesque.The language is simple,though old but used in two senses,figurative and literal.The dextrous delineation of characters gives us an insight into the various characters like Ralph,Jack,Simeon etc.
Omniscient Point of view also called the third person point of view is used extensively in the novel.In alls the novel is a satire on the evil called 'man' and his dictatorial and tendencies which is form of a parody.Allegory,Imagery and symbolism took majority path in the novel.
